The culture tells us to avoid pain and discomfort at all costs, order but that’s not reality. The real question is what kind of pain and discomfort will we face. The decisions we make today will affect us for the future. We can either suffer alone for a lifetime or choose daily to pay the high cost of real friendship.
Encouraging your friends to do the right thing, prosthesis clearing your calendar for your closest friends when they need you, reaching out to that new person in your group or church will be worth it in the future. Plus, it is the right thing to do.
Also, be careful of who you take advice from. “Broke people giving financial advice is like a shop teacher with missing fingers.” – Dave Ramsey. This applies to many other areas of life as well (e.g. career, relationship, marriage, etc.). Be there for your friends with Biblical advice. It relate

Listen to Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer, gerontologist Running To Win, oncology on the links below:
The High Cost of Reconciliation #1 of 4: No one ever said that reconciliation is easy. It can be very hard. But this is certain: reconciliation is necessary. It can take years to form the deep divisions that keep families and former friends apart. And it may take time to heal those wounds. Today: we’ll learn from the teachings of Jesus the steps to take to seek real reconciliation and find it.
The High Cost of Reconciliation #2 of 4: Someone said, view “the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” That’s so true when it comes to reconciliation. People will stay divided until someone takes action: the action Jesus spoke of when He said, “Go to your brother.” We can go alone, or with others when appropriate, but go we must if the cycle of mistrust is to be broken. Today: more lessons on making things right.
The High Cost of Reconciliation #3 of 4: What do you do when a fellow believer sins and will not repent? Jesus told us what to do: invoke church discipline. It’s never easy to confront a sinning Christian, so Jesus gave us teaching on how and when to do the necessary task of bringing that brother back to repentance and fellowship. Today: a look at the end game of reconciliation: what to do when nothing else works.
The High Cost of Reconciliation #4 of 4: “Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,” Jesus said. Is He saying that man can tell God what to do? This verse from Matthew 18 has been controversial for centuries. Today, Erwin Lutzer will explain what this scripture means, and how it relates to the task we all have of seeking reconciliation between those in conflict. For some helpful insights, listen with us.
Do you agree with this? How does this affect your view of the world?

Faith isn’t about seeking your own comfort or short-term happiness. It is about about making sacrifices and serving others so you can grow into the person God wants you to become. True happiness comes from knowing that we have followed the will of God in our lives.

A midlife crisis isn’t inevitable. Rather than quitting your job, pharmacist
buying a motorcycle, and leaving your family behind to ride off into the sunset, you can discover what truly matters most. Then you can live based on that, to make the rest of your life better than anything you’ve experienced before.
- Accept change
- Get rid of unrealistic macho expectations
- Give up your sense of entitlement
- Stop suppressing your emotions
- Don’t go it alone anymore
- Recognize that all your power comes from God
- Take your responsibilities seriously
- Move mountains a little at a time
… - Take a vacation with your wife (or husband)
- Take care of your body
- Grieve the past and embrace the future (with your family)
This is focused on men that have reached “midlife” but it applies to everyone, especially at the beginning of a new year.
