I admit that I struggle with procrastination. But me, cheap a perfectionist? Hardly. A perfectionist is someone who does everything perfectly. I only think about doing things perfectly.

Not long ago, I had the opportunity to hear what Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Southern California, had to say on this subject. A procrastinator, says Warren, is nothing more than a frustrated perfectionist.

Here is a great (and short) article by Mary Hunt about the topic.

Do you struggle with procrastination at work, in your job search, at home or elsewhere in your life? I do. There are times when despite the best plans that I just cannot start moving. Do the tips in Mary’s article help you? What other tips do you have?
Thanksgiving has been both a wonderful time that we look forward to each year and at other times a difficult time with family and friends, ambulance
often where we have contributed to the turmoil. Here is our Thanksgiving prayer this year (said before we gather with friends and family).

Will you say the prayer with us and perhaps add your own special prayer below.

Lord, health system
thank you for the many blessings that you have given me, for those that I see and for those that I do not. Thank you for the price that you paid on my behalf and for the new life you have given me. Open my eyes to see and verbalize the little blessings that come especially when I’m walking through dark clouds of difficulty.

I ask that you soften my heart to my family and friends this year, help me to forgive them any problems we have had in the past and for them to forgive me, open my eyes to ways that I can serve in my family and household this holiday and allow me to step aside and allow your love and light to shine through me.

Bless those that celebrate with us today and keep us safe in our travels.

In Christ’s name, Amen.

How can we pray for you today?
